Stuck in Indiana With No WiFi

Woe.
I'm in Indiana visiting Shawn's folks for a week, and one of the things I look forward to is grandpa's WiFi. Alas, poor York, it's not letting my laptop log-in. Thus, I am stuck with limited access. No sitting in the sunshine over looking the woodlands on his backporch blogging and emailing. Oh, woe! Oh, the humanity!
I drove eight hours for THIS!!
On the flip side, I'm expecting to get a lot of REAL writing done as well as *gasp* some reading. On the recomendation ofnaomikritzer, I bought Jo Walton's Farthing and am going to start it this week.
But, if you don't hear from me for days and days it's not because I hate you. It's because I hate this place.

I really, really would rather be doing anything else on my big 4-Oh other than driving for eight hours straight from ValPo to St. Paul. *sigh*
Shawn and I are pretending my birthday is on the 19th, actually. So I get an extra day as a 39 year old.
