I spent from 7am to almost 10:30 am in my car, driving from shop to shop getting the last bits for Solstice/Christmas. I even stood in line at the post office.  My whole morning was a quintessential holiday moment, and the kind of thing that would have been trimmed to a "shopping montage" for the movie of my life.

It was a helluva morning.

I've been having a lot more "I hate Christmas" moments this year, and I'm not sure why.  Is it Trump's fault? Probably. I mean, most days I start out feeling good, and then I listen to five minutes of the news and I think: ALL IS LOST.  Is it this weird, freakishly warm December weather we're having? Probably.  I'm sure it's a combination of all these things, plus Shawn suddenly telling me on Sunday that she'd bought me seven presents.  I'd bought her two. So, I suddenly felt REALLY FAR BEHIND.

But, I'm mostly caught up now.

You?

Well, we work right up until Christmas Eve; booth closes at 4 pm, we'll have pots packed out by 5ish. Booth stays until Boxing Day. So we've trained our families not to expect presents until Epiphany, at the earliest.

So I'm actually feeling okay. Christmas letters went out Monday. Shopped for niece/nephew presents at Market Sunday, have everyone covered except two grand-nephews, who I'll go hunting gifts for this next weekend. Rest of the family will get pots, or food, or a combination of both. (Though my brother might get the food vacuum-sealer I won from BiMart, if it doesn't cost the earth to ship. He butchers, I don't, so he'd get much more use from it than I would.)

Tomorrow is cookie baking day; Thursday we load in to Market again, and I do a grocery run for the Christmas ham, then it's back to work Friday.

Also? Getting my news from NPR's web app. I can't listen to That Man's voice...

The only far-left radio we have access to is Democracy Today on the college station. I did see an anti-Trump demonstration out in the rain yesterday, but as it was on the corner next to Whole Foods, it felt a little niche. Now if they'd been by BiMart, or Costco, I might think we were gaining traction.
