I kind of feel like if she's going to make a claim like that she should endeavor to be more precise, because I'm sure what she really means is: "There were like 1 or 2 trans people THAT I KNEW." Because, clearly she has selective memory? I am more fine about being remembered as cis (I mean, mostly? So, sure,) than I am being forgotten when Bear is remembered. Especially since I remember her and Annalee coming up to me after the panel and gushing fangirlishly at me about my books. But, I have not remained as (in)famous as Bear, so there you have it.

I remember, of course, Rachel being in the audience. I had another friend in the audience that I knew was trans, who was a con friend, whose name I've since forgotten, but she was a firefighter (and I can picture her in my head, but her name has evaporated.) So, that's already two more people in the room than Charlie Jane remembers. I can't imagine those were the only trans people in the room, honestly??
