I used to swim in Superior in the summer when it got too hot since AC wasn't really A Thing in the UP when I lived there. XD (It's still probably not much of A Thing.) You go numb after about 15 minutes, but it's always an amazing experience. We rarely swam for more than 45 minutes, though.

I actually miss it a lot. The water's so clear that me and my brothers would look for mussels by finding the air bubbles coming out of the sand. And one special moment was when I had a school of tiny translucent fish swarming my feet.

But you definitely needed a hot shower afterwards! We'd usually stop at the A&W and grab lunch or dinner and eat it with the windows down to let the heat in, then go home and finish warming up.
