When the Cat's Away, Mice Buy Comics
Apr. 28th, 2010 02:36 pmApparently, when Shawn is away on business trips, my mind craves all things animated. Not only have by been comic book power shopping like a True Nerd, but I also stayed up last night until 1 AM watching Anime with my nephew Jonathan. Jon has been trying to get me to see "Berserk" since forever, so I spontaneously called him up yesterday and asked him if he wanted to come over and watch it with me. We ate too much kettle corn and had too much fun.
And only got through half of it, the "light" half according to Jon. (Yikes!)
I also stopped by Midway Books to see if they had MAGNETO: TESTAMENT, which they did at full cover price. But, I was curious enough to find out how it all ended, that I went for it. I'm not sure how satisfied I am, however. I mean, it's a heart rending story, no doubt, but I was hoping for a bit more character than what came out on the page. Though it all made sense when I found out that it was a special edition written as a charity event for a painter who is a Holocaust survivor. I thought I might look around on the Interwebs and see if anyone picked up the story where it left off.
