My Life and Fish and All that Jazz
Nov. 25th, 2008 02:08 pmHaving Mason at home really messes up my writing routine. In fact, I haven't written since he's been out. At all. That's not good. Especially with two books to write. I know I need to get back to it because I had a dream that I was a vampire. I suspect this is my subconscious telling me to get to work on that vampire novel (although my subconscious also provided a strange bit of dialogue by my hotel roommates, Laurie Winter and Haddayr, who lamented about a vampire party, "The zombies were supposed to die. They wouldn't die.")
Damn zombies.
Instead, I've been playing lots of games with Mason, baking Christmas cookies, and doing a lot of reading (as part of my coursework for WitchSchool.com.) I've totally been letting my new obsession interfere with my writing. It's time to be a writer again (as well), alas.
I think this is one of biggest bummers of being a working writer. It takes up what little free time a person might normally devote to other hobbies. I find I tend to do one thing OR the other. I wish there were more hours in the day.
In good news, our friends the Jacksons from Colorado are coming to eat a big dead bird with us on Thursday. They, our dear, but insane, friends are driving, and hope to arrive tomorrow afternoon. Sounds like the kids might be staying with us, and the folks at a nearby hotel. Should be great to see them again no matter how chaotic it will probably, on some level, be.
Okay, Mason is hiding so I must go seek.
